We have offices throughout Nova Scotia in Halifax, Bridgewater, Kentville, Yarmouth, Truro, Port Hawkesbury, New Glasgow and Sydney.About Our OpportunityAs the Industry Training Consultant, you will administer the programs and services of the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency, carrying out the activities necessary to effectively fulfil the legislative obligations of the Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications Act and mandate of the Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications System as articulated in the Agency’s Operating charter.By engaging employers and providing guidance and support to both employers and apprentices, you will help build knowledge and awareness of the services provided by the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency, promoting apprenticeship training as a viable post-secondary pathway and career.As the Industry Training Consultant, you will report to the Manager, Programs.Primary AccountabilitiesResponsible for class intakesImplementing and monitoring the policies and procedures of the AgencyPerforming recognition of prior learning (RPL) assessments, trade qualification assessments and approvalsVerifying individuals’ eligibility for federal and provincial grants as well as awardsParticipating in, or as a resource for, invigilating examsServing on various projects, task teams and committees.Qualifications and ExperienceThis may be the right opportunity for you if you have an undergraduate degree plus 5 years of related experience or an acceptable combination of training and experience.You are an exceptional communicator (verbal and written) who is decisive with sound analytical and negotiation skills. You have previous experience working independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, demonstrating sound judgement and discretion. You value a diverse and inclusive workplace.
