We are your neighbours and we make sustainable investments in the communities we share.To learn more about who we are and how you can help bring our brand to life, visit us at: https://www.southernplainsco-op.crs/sites/southernplains/What you’ll do:The Bakery/Deli Supervisor is responsible for The Deli/Bakery Supervisor is responsible for overseeing sales activities and service levels within the Bakery/Deli Department, including adherence to asset protection, safe working conditions, Co-op brand/image standards, and product regulatory requirement. Working collaboratively with the team, you will:

  • Ensure acceptable level of service is provided to all internal and external customers, staff attitude is appropriate and Hassle-Free Guarantee Program is followed and that it aligns and strengthens the Co-operative’s vision, mission, values, and brand.
  • Provide leadership to the team through scheduling and assigning work, anticipating needs, coordinating training and development.
  • Identify issues and areas for improvement within the Deli/Bakery department in-store experience.
  • Provide demonstrated, professional leadership and direction to the store team to create an ongoing, positive, highly motivated workforce within the team.
  • Demonstrate leadership and participate in all Health and Safety requirements, ensuring employees are knowledgeable about the compliance with OH&S policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Provide operational oversight in the absence of the Deli/Bakery department Manager.
  • Monitor to ensure product is safely received and stored.
  • Ensure confidentiality regarding pricing, financial and marketing strategies, and Human Resources information.
  • Ensure claims, invoices and all other administrative duties is done timely, accurately and meets policy and procedure.

  • You have at least one year experience in retail management at supervisory role level, with supervisory and bakery/Deli experience.
  • You have strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • You have a passion for sales.
  • Must successfully complete provincially required training/certification relating to the responsible service and/or sale of products (ex. Food Safety, TEAMS, etc.).
  • You must be available to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends, and must also be available for calls after hours and emergencies.
  • You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives
