If you like to work in a dynamic environment, have experience managing projects, carrying out research and analysis, are results orientated and focused on building strong relationships, we want to hear from you! This is a regular, full time position based out of any of our four offices: Castlegar, Cranbrook, Nakusp or Golden.Reporting to the Senior Manager, Special Initiatives, the successful candidate will:

  • Support the development of strategic recommendations related to the research, design and implementation of initiatives that support the Trust’s Columbia Basin Management Plan and corporate objectives including Support for Business Renewal.
  • Help develop recommendations related to the Trust’s approach to working with Indigenous Peoples.
  • Oversee the recruitment, management and monitoring of various staff, advisory bodies, workshops and consulting services required to undertake the work of Special Initiatives.
  • Manage, monitor and oversee contracts related to programs, projects and services in accordance with Trust policies and budgets.
We are looking for an individual with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, public policy, Indigenous studies, natural resource management or a related field, with a minimum of five years of experience including some experience in a management role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have sound experience in project management, budgeting, managing relationships with partners, policy writing and implementation, and well-developed research and presentation skills. Familiarity with the Trust’s mandate, strategic priorities, the Basin region, as well as the constitutional, political and legal context of challenges facing Indigenous Peoples in Canada today is important.
