Come be a part of our success.We are currently recruiting for a Scaling & Marine Supervisor to be based at our operations in Nakusp, BC. The Scaling & Marine Supervisor will be responsible for managing our Upper Arrow Lakes scales, logyards, and marine activities and have a strong commitment to safety.What Youll Do

  • Supervision of contract log yard crews and scalers
  • Coordination of scale sites with harvesting supervisors
  • Budgeting and scheduling
  • Supervision of uplake marine crew and coordinator with Marine Superintendent in Castlegar
  • Demonstrating leadership in complying with safety and environmental requirements.
What You Offer
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license (a valid driver’s abstract must be submitted with your application).
  • A BC Interior scaling license would be an asset.
  • Eligibility or accreditation with the Association of BC Forest Professionals is an asset
  • Demonstrated interest and innovative aptitude in safety, mechanics, and log quality
  • Working knowledge of Forestry Regulations (Forest, Act, FPPR), EMS and Worksafe requirements and procedures
  • Background in forestry and tree species identification
  • Familiarity with booming, rafting and marine vessels is an asset
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • Ability to meet changing priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting timelines
  • thrives in a team based, results oriented environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders, as well as the ability to negotiate and problem solve
  • Self-motivated, good communicator, and highly organized
  • Commitment to high safety and environmental standards
  • Strong business acumen
  • Must be in good physical condition and able to work in changing environments as required
  • Computers skill sin Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with LIMS, WeighWiz and Crosscut is an asset
