Reconcile each pay cycle over cycle, monthly, and quarterly processing; research and resolve until reconciled. Prepare a variety of annual tax statements.Payroll Analyst III - CanadaJOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, process, and reconcile Canadian employee payroll garnishments, payments, benefits, rewards, and taxes including Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions. Run standard reports and reconcile each pay component; reconcile the T4 preview to the prior pay cycle. Initiate corrective actions on routine and non-routine issues; recommend and discuss corrective actions on unique issues with management. Track recurring issues for process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide research, process, and regulation guidance to colleagues.
  • Monthly reconcile the worker non-resident and resident location
  • Quarterly process
  • Prepare, reconcile, and file Health Tax filings so applicable provinces.
  • Reconcile Executive T4 recap ensuring accuracy of deposits and taxes.
  • Annually prepare and reconcile Statement of Remuneration (T4), Releve 1 (RL-1) personal income tax, and personal expense forms (T200) and (TP64.3). Discuss concerns and issues with Management. Submit filings to Management for review and approval.
  • Research and resolve escalated Payroll Heat Tickets. Collaborate within Payroll and HR to understand processes and identify root cause to appropriately resolve issue(s). Requests the Support Center and/or associate’s Management to update associate payroll, wage, or benefit records to correct issue(s).
  • Project manages short-term initiatives with department scope. Develops timelines, Gantt charts, activity logs, schedules and facilitates recurring team meetings, writes business requirements, may write software test scripts and guide testers as well as drafts communications and job aids.
  • Self manages workload-negotiating deadlines to meet expectations. Takes the initiative to discuss assignments, expectations, priorities and deadlines as well as seek guidance and coaching from manager. Adjusts quickly to new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures.
  • Completes complex and unique assignments independently. Applies experience and knowledge of industry, company, policies, and regulations to resolve or recommend solutions. Discusses escalated issue recommendations with manager. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Recommends efficiencies to team and manager. Documents work as part of deliverables, resulting in high quality materials for internal and external usage. Writes standard operating procedures (SOP) and develops job aids. May train colleagues on department procedures and standards.
MINIMUM RequirementsEducation
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, management, or business administration or related discipline preferred
Certification
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner certificate required
Experience
  • At least five (5) years’ work experience administering Canadian payroll for a large employer using ERP software
  • Workday payroll and timekeeping experience a plus
  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of Canadian Payroll regulations
  • Demonstrate knowledge of HR Processes impact on Payroll administration
  • Bilingual French/English
