Job Description

KTM Canada, in Chambly, is looking for a bilingual Event Specialist that shares our off-road and street motorcycling passion and who will help us grow the sport of motorcycling. Are you interested in joining winning team Are YOU ready to raceUnder the supervision of the Marketing Manager, the Event Specialist plans and executes events for the purpose of building brand awareness and engagement in both endemic and non-endemic motorcycle markets for our premium brands KTM, Husqvarna Motorcycles and GASGAS. You will contribute to developing connections between KTM, Husqvarna and GASGAS motorcycle dealers, consumers, race promoters, industry leaders, journalists, athletes, and centers of influence. You will work with our marketing team to facilitate relationships with our partners to ensure all event activities run smoothly and reflect our core brand values. Events consist of motorcycle demonstrations, product displays, sponsorship executions in urban or remote destinations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans and executes various types of motorcycle events and activities including dealer and customer demos, media/press launches, trade shows and other corporate events.
  • Work with marketing team and key stakeholders to provide event support ensuring all tasks are completed according to event project plan and schedule.
  • Coordinate event administrative and logistical tasks including budgeting prior to and on day of event. Includes, but is not limited to, coordinating execution with motorcycle riding tracks and race promoters,
  • Responsible for driving company vehicles such as sprinter vans, trucks, trailers to events in order to transport motorcycles, spare parts, fuel and lubricants, tools, tents, event materials
  • Prepares motorcycles for each event to ensure premium and safe demo ride activities. Facilitates motocross, off-road, and/or street motorcycle for dealer demo rides and special events as required.
  • Following each event, cleans the motorcycles, van, trailer and all equipment; makes repairs as needed, prepares post event administration and prepares for following events.
  • Responsible for submitting written reports, event recaps with photos for the events as well as managing collection signed release forms (waivers) from participants
  • In the event of an accident/injury during an event, responsible for managing the situation and follow-up as needed using established guidelines/procedures.
  • Assist with social media contributions at events
  • When not attending events helps with organization of events , marketing projects, refurbishing or motorcycles and other duties in the Chambly office
REQUIRED SKILLS:A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the motorcycle, automotive, action sports industries and/or event planning industries
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French
  • A strong understanding for the marketing of off-road and street motorcycling
  • Competency and passion for off road and street motorcycle riding
  • Strong mechanical abilities and familiarity with motorcycles
  • Competency with computers and software (Microsoft Office, Phone applications)
  • Valid Class A driver’s license, with a clean driving record
  • Valid full motorcycle license required

  • Self-starter and able to work independently with limited direction
  • Superior organization skills, problem solving skills, and a high level of attention for detail
  • High personal standards in keeping all equipment neat, clean and presentable to make a professional and
premium presentation.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven and constantly changing environment, flexibility to switch gears with little notice
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and understand when to escalate potential issues

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise in the work environment is usually moderate. Other factors are:
  • Must be able to travel extensively (roughly 20-30 exhibition/demo events per year).
  • Ability to work extended hours and on weekends as required.
  • Fast-paced, evolving environment that requires problem solving skills.
