Job Description

The Position Description:NTS in Chambly, Quebec, the leading provider of testing and engineering services, is seeking a Mechanical Technician to work in the capacity a Climatic/Mechanical/Dynamics test technician to support hands-on testing or a wide array of products to confirm compliance with applicable commercial requirements. NTS Canada is a leader in its field, specializing in mechanical and environmental testing of high-tech products. It is an ISO / IEC 10725 accredited laboratory. It is committed to providing its clients with quality expertise and support throughout the validation of manufactured products. It has a wide range of recognized services related to reliability testing and breakdown testing.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Perform test setups according to tests specifications, international standards and any other requirementsPerform qualification, certification and R&D climatic, mechanical and dynamic testsSupport tasks executed by engineersPerform test equipment preventive maintenanceMaintain test log sheets and record data during testsSet up data acquisition system and data gatheringPerform receiving and shipping activitiesInvolve in continuous improvement of processes and methodsPerform other duties as requiredRequired Education/Skills/Experience:Must be a Canadian citizen or perm residentMust be localMust be able to pass a background and drug screeningMust be a high school graduate or equivalentMust have a strong hands-on mechanical aptitude (able to work with manual and power tools).Excellent written and verbal bi-lingual communication skillsGood computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is requiredExcellent people skills and be a strong team player willing to adapt as necessaryAbility to tolerate stress and work in a fast paced environmentAbility to share skills and knowledge with others and to delegate responsibilityAbility to complete tasks with minimal supervisionStrong Organizational and Analytical SkillsPositive “Can Do” Attitude while displaying the initiative and ability to problem solveStrong attention to detailOvertime may be required in order to meet customers’ deadlinesdesired (nice to have) skills:Utilization of pressure, temperature & flow sensors, accelerometers and force sensorsSkills in basics machining and manufacturing for test fixturingWORKING CONDITIONS:Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noisesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
