  • Understanding and strong ability to exemplify superior customer service
  • You must have good phone etiquette
  • Responsibilities include registering guests, assigning rooms, accommodating special requests, and ensuring the guests have a great stay.
  • Provide quality service to guests in a timely and professional manner. Maintain a courteous atmosphere throughout guest’s entire stay.
  • Ability to be flexible and to adapt in a professional work environment and to adhere and follow instruction in all aspects of the hotel. (ex: updating communication book daily, assign guest rooms, cash handling, fire, and emergency procedures, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate in a respectful and professional manner with all departments within the Hotel (ex: housekeeping, sales, maintenance, etc.)
  • Attention to detail – Verifying guest accounts and credit information to ensure accuracy of registration information.
  • To be able to accurately record information (data entry) when making reservations, checking in and out guests, and posting charges and payments.
  • You will be required to assist with the guest inquiries in all aspects of Chemainus and the Cowichan Valley. You must have good understanding and knowledge of current hotel promotions, specials, rates and tourism related offers during peak months.
  • Clear communication between departments regarding all aspects of the hotel including guests concerns and/or issues.
  • Assist guests with all inquiries and complaints in a respectful and timely manner. Must record and report any issues, grievances, or incidents to management regardless of nature.
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor always with all staff & guests.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications:
  • Experience in customer service industry is preferred
  • Must train for 4 weeks full time
  • Must be flexible; schedule will include holiday relief, weekends, and evenings.
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience as a team player
  • Proficiency in keyboarding and computer applications required
  • Proven organization, communication and multi-tasking skills required
  • Accounting, cash handling, and shift balancing experience an asset
  • Must be friendly and outgoing and extremely presentable and well groomed
  • The applicant will be a dedicated, confident and self-disciplined individual with a sincere desire to provide excellent customer service within a high-volume environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
