West Coast Pre Fab Ltd. is seeking another highly motivated individual to join our team as an Dispatch & Site AdministratorThis multi-role position requires a firm understanding for attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. This full-time permanent position will include both working at our Head Office as well as on construction site. The ability to work in a dynamic role and adapt to a changing environment is an asset. Traveling to site and overtime/weekend hours will be required.This is a full-time position with 1-2 weekends on-call per month. Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 4:30 is typical but an alternate schedule may be possible.Permanent career job with many opportunities to increase work scope over time.Duties: Typical duties include dispatching trades people to jobs across the province. This is done during business hours and 1-2 weeks/weekends per month after-hours on-call. After-hours work is done remotely.Dispatching includes managing a lot of information, tickets and vacation schedules of hundreds of personnel. It also includes supporting some with hotel and flight bookings.Longer workdays outside of our office on a construction site will be required but will typically have weeks or months to plan. Up to 14 days in a row.On construction sites work is done with MS Excel and other software programs. Many data points including costs and personnel time is recorded and assigned to work. The ability to work comfortably with numbers is required.This position is a blend of being on the phone dispatching and on the computer entering and organizing data.Skills: This is a social position. You must be comfortable calling and talking to hundreds of people.Organizational skills are paramount.You will work with a team but will need to keep your own list of your tasks and be self-motivated.Above average computer skills required. Strong confidence in Excel is required but only in its basic functions (making lists, moving data, sum of numbers).Business administration skills, like Applied Business Technology, or certificates in Business Admin is an asset but by no means required.Experience in industry is an asset.Compensation: The starting wage will be negotiated based on experience, along with the implementation of benefits upon completion of a 3 month probation period. Some hours may be flexible.Location: This position is in the office in Chemainus most of the time and the housing and rental markets in the area are tight.
