The KIN-DIR Education Foundation is a not-for-profit, Alberta Education approved, Private ECS Operator in Calgary and area. We screen, assess, and treat developmental delays and disabilities in children 2 years 8 months old to Kindergarten age. Our team consists of Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Behavioral Consultants, and Psychologists specializing in early child development. We also work with families regarding challenging behaviors, developmental tasks, and positive parenting. The services are provided in a variety of settings such as preschools, daycares and in-home.We are looking for a full-time Educational Assistant (EA) to join our team who will:· carry out and facilitate a childs IPP goals as directed by the Learning Support Teacher· implement strategies consistently in order to support a childs success within the classroom· communicate regularly, effectively, and clearly on the childs progress to the Learning Support Teacher, and be able to show a written understanding of a childs current level of performance· support partner programs on understanding and following through with strategies· complete IPP documentation and attendance records for each Kin-Dir child regularly· develop and create materials to support the child throughout their day· drive a bus (15-passenger van or 7-passenger mini-van) to transport the children to and from the programWe are looking for a Learning Support Facilitator (LSF) who exhibits the following skills/knowledge:· Strong understanding of positive behaviour support strategies· Exceptional organizational skills· Excellent written and verbal communication skills· Basic computer skills and basic knowledge of Board Maker, Zoom meeting application, and Microsoft Office 365· Comfortable working in a variety of settings, family & foster homes· Flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment· Able to multi-task· Able to work and collaborate within a team, and able to take initiative and work independently· Able to drive a bus (15-passenger van or 7-passenger mini-van) to transport the children to and from the programQualifications: · Degree or diploma in a related field, or at least 2 years of experience working in a classroom and/or home setting supporting children with special needs, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, including practicum experience· Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (mandatory)· Valid Class 4 Driver’s Licence (asset)· Child Care Certificate Level 1 or 2 (mandatory)· Valid Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search Disclosure· Valid Intervention Record Check· Valid Child Care First Aid and CPRContract length: 10 monthsApplication deadline: 2021-09-17Expected start date: 2021-09-20Job Types: Full-time, TemporarySalary: From $18.00 per hourBenefits:
