Position Summary: The MOA will work within an inter-professional team of physicians and allied health professionals to assist in developing a program of comprehensive, proactive care directly in the family practice setting, in order to improve the health and wellness of individuals in physician clinics.Key Responsibilities: · Optimize clinic workflow by answering phones, greeting patients, rooming patients, participating in ASaP screening, scheduling, patient follow up, and other clinical administrative tasks as required· Maintains Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), performs tasks including linking, uploading documents in regards to patient care· Coordinates patient care through clinic; checking in, prepping, escorting to exam rooms, preparing exam or treatment rooms, answering questions, providing post appointment service, monitoring the waiting room, assists physicians as needed within scope of practice.· Other episodic duties as required.Educational Requirements: · The ideal candidate will have an educational background and experience as a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) and completion of an accredited MOA program.· A combination of experience and skills in a health-care related setting will be considered in lieu of formal completion of an MOA programExperience and Skills Required: · 1-3 years of health care experience, preferably in a primary care setting, is desired.· Experience working within an inter-professional care team model· Knowledge EMR’sCore Competencies: · Strong understanding of basic medical terminology and health care procedures.· Strong administrative and communication skills· Ability to manage conflict in professional manner· The ideal candidate will have an educational background and experience as a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) and completion of an accredited MOA program.· A combination of experience and skills in a health-care related setting will be considered in lieu of formal completion of an MOA programWorking Conditions: · Medical clinic environmentReporting Structure: Direct - Director, Clinical Innovation; Indirect - Executive DirectorAbout the Calgary Rural Primary Care Network (CRPCN): The Calgary Rural PCN works together with communities, family doctors and other health team members to do whatever we can help you be as healthy as possible.
