Our facilities are located in Cochrane, Alberta.About the PositionYour primary purpose is to ensure the clean, safe and efficient operations of SLS Centre as it relates to the aquatic center, fieldhouse stands, dressing rooms, washrooms, and all common and public spaces inside and outside of the building. This is a tough but rewarding physical job, which includes deep cleaning and working within view of our public, users, and patrons, with an emphasis on consistency.Job Type:Full-time, Hourly (30+ hours/week) - Benefits-eligible after 3 months; weekend shift premium Part-Time shifts also available, weekend shift premiumAvailability Required: Wed/Thurs/Fri/Sat - 3:30pm-12:00midnightSpecific responsibilities:Responsible for housekeeping of front end that the public sees (washrooms and locker rooms, multi – use rooms, hallways and grounds). Responsible for cleaning, set-up, take downamp; routine non-mechanical maintenance as required to operate facility. Accountable for effective cleaning and sanitization, following facility protocols and expectations, in relation to guidelines for COVID-19 prevention. Assist with weekend operations of the building as required, by performing assigned duties, inspecting machinery daily, keeping mechanical rooms clean. Interact and communicate with the immediate supervisor, co-workers, employees, and customers. Always maintain a professional and customer friendly appearance. To carry communication device at all times and be available to respond to emergency situations as required and check-in at Guest Services on a frequent basis. Perform all work with proper safety procedures in mind to ensure a safe environment for the individual themselves and the general building population.Qualifications:MUST have the specific required availability (listed above)**Due to a bonafide occupational requirement, gender ratios may be a factor in selection.Custodial experience is a preferred asset Hardworking, strong work ethic, and maturity is required for success in this position Dedicated to ensuring a clean and well-maintained environment Ability to get results, meet timelines, be proactive with a friendly customer-focused approach Strong teamwork and reliability; able to easily and respectfully work with others WHIMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification or willing to obtain Criminal Record Check is required immediately upon hire Ability to read, write, and accurately follow verbal AND written instructions in English Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job including standing/walking for an extended period of time, lifting, twisting, and performing repetitive motions involved with commercial cleaning
