If this interests you, we would like to see how your skills could benefit our team.The Role:Our Training Services team is looking for a Courseware Developer/Training Services Specialist who will play a key role in the development and maintenance of training materials and FWSAR documentation. We seek a collaborative team player with demonstrated ability to:

  • Write and edit content for courseware (in collaboration with SMEs)
  • Manage changes to courseware, including media, in our LCMS/LMS
  • Work with SMEs, the client and others, as directed, to gather and assess content, and validate training deliverables
  • Support the development and maintenance of FWSAR procedural documents
  • Ensure compliance of FWSAR documents with required standards for format, style, wording conventions and so on
  • Conduct impact assessments to evaluate the extent of potential changes to courseware
  • Assume ownership of versioning controls, naming conventions, metadata and so on
  • Participate as an active member of the team to help establish and document procedures, create workflows, produce reports, cover other roles and so on
Your Profile:
  • University degree or relevant college diploma and 3 - 5 years experience creating courseware, manuals, procedures and/or technical guides for learners whose first language is not English (An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.)
  • Understanding of and commitment to the use of style guides, standards and wording conventions
  • Proven ability to write in plain English
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and business analysis
  • Understanding of a Learning Content Management System (LCMS) and Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Ability to create and update a wide variety of media with Adobe Photoshop (or GNU Image Manipulation Program), Illustrator, Premiere, Acrobat and other Adobe software
  • Flexibility in handling tasks and projects
  • Accountable for accuracy and completeness of deliverables
  • Familiarity with DND’s DWAN and DLN systems would be an asset
Job Requirements (mandatory):The successful candidate must be:
  • Eligible to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or via a valid Work Permit
  • Able to hold a Canadian Level II NATO Secret Security Clearance and meet the requirements of the Canada Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR
  • Fully vaccinated per CAE’s Epidemic/Pandemic vaccination policy.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
