Job Description

You will also be a liaison between departments, our external vendors, and our employees. The nature of the role is dynamic, and the scope of responsibilities may change from time to time to support evolving business needs. This role will report to the Director, People Operations.Responsibilities:In this role, you will perform a wide variety of HR tasks:

  • Compensation and Benefits:
    • Compensation - Administer bi-weekly payroll
    • Compensation survey and data creation and tracking
    • Health Benefits administrator- answer employee questions on related enrolling/changing and general inquiries.
    • Enrolling new employees to Health and Benefits plan
    • Monthly Health Benefits vendor invoice review and prepare statements
    • Monthly RRSP uploading and review
  • Recruitment, Onboarding & Exits:
    • Assist with drafting job descriptions and postings
    • Screen resumes and schedule interviews with appropriate hiring team
    • Onboarding - scheduling, logistics with hiring manager, IT,
    • New employee specific training
    • Enrolling new employees to payroll, health benefits and RRSP and any other applicable services/programs
    • Turn-over – voluntary or in-voluntary, assist with logistics- communication with IT, asset retrieval, Accounting, Compensation and Benefits termination
    • Assist with Exit interviews if required
    • Termination procedures as required
  • Employee Relations:
    • Employee Relations- Support internal team by providing information and assistance to internal staff related to human resources programs and services
    • Assist with organizing and overseeing Social events & recognition celebrations
    • Corporate events organization and co-ordination
  • Learning and Development:
    • Support organization and facilitation of training sessions including logistics and reporting
    • Sourcing external courses and vendors
  • HR Projects and Policies:
    • HR Projects - Support HR projects and additional activities as assigned
    • Employment Law and ESA changes – stay abreast of evolving landscape
    • HR Policy compliance and creation – draft and monitor of compliance as required
    • Media monitoring: gather and report on HR related matters in the news weekly
  • Health and Safety:
    • Health and Safety programs and record keeping – such as organizing training and compliance with public health and government guidelines & polices
    • Schedule, Track and monitor OHSA training requirements
    • Vaccination Policy: monitor and track vaccination status of the staff as required
    • A member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee representing Human Resources
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or post-secondary education institution in Human Resources
  • One (1) or more years of work experience in a corporate setting; experience providing administrative support to HR and / or multiple departments an asset
Experience:
  • Strong proficiency in coordination
  • Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency in social media, graphic design and image editing an asset
  • Highly efficient with effective organization skills, the ability to prioritize and with a customer service focus
  • Takes initiative, uses independent judgment when required and has strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Comfortable working independently or as a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
