With a facility located in Vaughan, we offer a variety of options and features that are designed to make our windows and doors ideal for residential replacement and custom home markets. Position Summary:The Production Technician is responsible for the preventative and incidental building repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing fixtures at the Stage facility, including office and plant environments. The Production Technician will comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety procedures.Performing assigned daily repairs, and emergency and preventative maintenance, the Production Maintenance will complete repair records and logs as required review work orders, estimate time and material, and order materials and supplies necessary to complete all tasks. Working within a small team, the right candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality work, with a “roll up your sleeves” kind of attitude. This is a full-time position that requires strong prioritization, organizational, interpersonal, and detail-oriented skills, and someone who is well-versed in maintenance within production environments. The successful candidate will be disciplined, punctual, and a strong team player dedicated to generating an engaged and safe work environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively and efficiently responds to work order demands as issued to ensure business and production needs are not interrupted.
  • Performs a variety of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance duties throughout each location by cleaning, repairing, and servicing equipment as necessary, including but not limited to replacing saw blades, monitoring facility upkeep, and ensuring proper housekeeping procedures are in place.
  • Completes assigned work orders and preventative maintenance recording results in the database ensuring closure of orders in a timely manner; escalates issues to the Production Manager as required.
  • Conducts periodic inspections, tests, and preventative maintenance schedules and reports findings.
  • Interprets mechanical and/or electrical schematics, sketches, manuals, specifications, and written and oral instructions
  • Adheres to all health and safety protocols, company rules, best practices, and applicable legislation, including lock-out, tag-out procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Follows flexible work schedule ensuring production requirements are met.
  • Follows up with third-party vendors and external service providers as needed to ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Maintains inventory of spare parts ensuring accuracy, updated directory, and management of supply ensuring sufficient parts on hand.
  • Completes reports and associated documentation to review with management.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Skills and Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of facilities and maintenance requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Focus on client-service operations with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools and other equipment as necessary to complete assigned work orders.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Excel, and databases.
  • Time management and project prioritization skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours and be available to respond to emergency situations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Educationamp; Experience:
  • Postgraduate education or relevant Trades certification.
  • 4+ years of building operator or maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Previous experience leading projects and teams.
