Job Description

Dion Custom Metal specializes in custom metal, aluminum and stainless-steel fabrication and design. We take pride in offering a complete package from design to powder coat to install, setting us apart not only in the quality of our work but the quality of our service.We are hiring a Metal Fabricator who reads and analyzes blueprints and engineering drawings to assess the materials needed and to create the templates that correspond with the required metal cuts.This role uses a variety of machinery to make the necessary cuts and to assemble the fabricated component into a complete unit. Responsibilities include:

  • Read, understand, and interpret engineering and production drawings, blueprints and specifications.
  • Create and construct patterns and guides for customized metal cutting.
  • Layout reference points and patterns on metals in accordance with the templates and blueprints.
  • Operate light machinery including brake press, shears, cutting torches and grinders.
  • Assemble, fit and weld metal sections and plates to create complete units or subunits.
  • Install fabricated components in the final product.
  • Monitor quality of fabrication and production.
  • Occasional travel to sites for measurements and installations.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Other duties as needed.
Skills and Experience:
  • 4 plus years’ experience in the trade, may include apprenticeship.
  • Journeyman or Red Seal designation is required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to shop and site locations as work requires.
  • Understanding steel grades, coating types and fabrication procedures as well as installation procedures and requirements.
  • Welding skills, particularly TIG welding.
  • Experience working with mild steel, stainless and aluminum.
  • Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
