Michels Canada headquarters is based in Nisku, Alberta, Canada.DESCRIPTIONMichels Canada is looking for a Project Controls Coordinator responsible for field cost coding and quantity tracking, subcontractor accruals, change orders and billing validations, project performance measurement, project forecasting, and change order administration of the ongoing infrastructure project. The Project Controls Coordinator will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to administer project billing requirements as per the Prime Contract. This position will report directly to the Senior Project Manager, and functionally to Project Control Supervisor. The position will be based out of our Project field office located in Coquitlam, BC.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Review Prime Contract, engineering drawings, and other related documentation to fully understand the project scope of work and be familiar with cost items and contract invoicing requirements and billing schedules.
  • Key gatekeeper for the project field cost coding system. Make sure field cost is coded properly on Timesheet, supplier purchase order, subcontract LEM, and their invoices, and aligned with construction activity.
  • Deep understanding project control budget assumptions and breakdowns. Provide coding and funding analysis for all project major subcontract work orders and purchase orders.
  • Based on the existing Project Management Office process, maintain and update MS Excel-based reporting systems to track project incurred costs, project performance measurement, and project forecasting based on project schedule.
  • Understand the Prime Contract invoicing requirements. Maintain required billing backups. Prepare monthly invoice package for approval by Project Manager.
  • Conduct cost transfer and adjustment for mischarged items in Viewpoint.
  • Build and maintain project labour, and equipment burn curve.
  • Maintain major commercial change order list and track internal change orders. Reflect them in project cost and revenue forecast accordingly.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to make sure Michels Canada invoicing standard requirements are met.
  • Other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
  • At least two and more years of related engineering experience or construction project experience
  • Basic understanding of Engineering, Procurement, Construction processes.
  • Possess some knowledge of ERP systems and/or scheduling applications.
  • Graduate with engineering disciplines and/or construction background are preferred.
LANGUAGES
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
