Job Description

Job Title: Catering SupervisorReports To: Manager – Resort Sales, Events and GroupsSUMMARY: We are looking for a dynamic people leader who brings supervision experience and a willingness to learn and grow. Reporting to the Manager– Resort Sales, Events and Groups, the Catering Supervisor will oversee the catering team during the execution of events while supporting the Catering Coordinator with functions such as ordering product, inventory counts, schedule writing and the creation of standard operating procedures. This position will ensure that all visiting groups and guests have an exceptional experience, by always providing friendly and professional service, meeting and exceeding our guests’ expectations from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. We want a leader who is hungry to learn and grow with us!RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervision of catering team in a multi-site operation
  • Write schedules to meet business and budget needs, including labour and revenue forecasting in multi-site operation
  • Onboard and train catering staff in an efficient and effective way following training guidelines and material
  • Complete purchase orders of dry goods, liquor, and other supplies as required, including receiving product and ensuring accuracy
  • Manage inventory control of general supplies and assist with inventory counts as required
  • Input into creation, design, and training of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure all events are executed to standard including all set up, food and beverage, and audio-visual requirements are prepped and ready
  • Ensure accuracy and timelines are met in daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and billing
  • Conduct professional site visits and client meetings to showcase the facilities available
  • Plan, up-sell, and details of function with clients including space requirements, set up times, audio visual equipment and food & beverage, maximizing function space and revenue.
  • Be present on the floor during all events, offering leadership to the team and supporting where needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Food Safe Level 1
  • Serving it Right
  • Experience supervising staff and leading teams in a high paced environment
  • Experience with training and overseeing training programs
  • Experience with Microsoft office and basic computer skills
  • Experience with creating and implementing standard operating procedures and asset but not required
  • Experience with financial aspect of restaurant operations an asset but not required
  • Experience with schedule writing, labour, and revenue forecasting and asset but not required
  • Experience on restaurant POS system an asset but not required
  • WSET Level 2 or above and asset but not required
  • Hospitality or Event Management diploma (or equivalent) an asset but not required
COMPENSATION:
  • WSET Level 2 or above and asset but not required
  • Pay range $18 - $22 per hour (based,on experience) plus gratuity pool
