If you need a break from the woods, you can kick-back and enjoy the mountainous scenery and explore the many cute cafes, bakeries, and boutiques that Comox Valley has to offer.The Coordinator, Real Property Management, provides real property support, including planning and documentation assistance, to the Client-Partners. The incumbent drafts agreements, reviews inventory, validates data entry and tracks, reviews, analyzes and allocates space, and reviews and analyzes siting proposals. The incumbent also liaises with municipalities and other government organizations, as required.KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIESThe duties and responsibilities listed below are representative but not all-inclusive:Primary

  • Provide technical services, research support and advice
  • Draft agreements or proposals
  • Conduct inventory reviews, and track, review, analyze and allocate space
  • Enter real property data into systems and ensure quality control
  • Support Client-Partners in dealing with municipalities and other government organizations
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholders
  • Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations
Other
  • Provide input into business cases when leasing is a viable option and/or into infrastructure and facilities planning
  • Support and/or lead business development activities
  • Manage risk
  • Other duties as assigned
SKILLSGeneral and Specific Knowledge
  • Best practices, methods, trends and legislation in real property, land use, facility management and maintenance methods, infrastructure planning/facilities planning, space allocation and siting
  • Project and risk management principles
Formal Education and/or Certification(s) and Experience
  • Minimum: certification in engineering technology, real property or facility management (mechanical or electrical engineering technician, and Real Property Management or Facilities management Administrator), Power Engineering certification
Abilities
  • Use applicable computer software and operating systems
  • Apply project and risk management techniques
  • Knowledge of French is an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Typical office environment with occasional travel
  • Some work may be located on construction sites; incumbent may occasionally be required to wear basic safety equipment

Typically to be eligible for a "Reliability" clearance, you must have five years of verifiable background information and to be eligible for a "Secret" clearance, you must have 10 years of verifiable background information.
