Job Description

The Kokanee Fruit Company Ltd. is seeking 2 seasonal full-time farm workers for a minimum of 30 hours of work per week.Successful applicants will hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license and must be experienced operating tractors, sprayers, haying equipment, and feeding equipment. Experience with mixed farming of fruit, vegetables and livestock is an asset. Candidates must be physically fit for labour and work well with others. Attendance and punctuality are essential. This position reports to the Farm Manager.Duties include but are not limited to:· Pruning, raking, thinning, cultivating, maintaining, harvesting and sorting of crops.· Tree planting, fertilizing, and spraying.· Operating and maintaining farm machinery.· Perform general farm maintenance.· Feeding cattle, fencing and operating haying equipment.· Assisting with irrigation and irrigation maintenance.· Detecting disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry.Work Conditions and Physical CapabilitiesOutdoor work in ALL Conditions. Cold, Rain, Mud, Dusty, Hot, Wind, Snow.

The successful candidate will be a flexible team player who has an attention to detail and is able to follow specific instructions. No education required. Experience working in agriculture is an asset but not a requirement. Preference will be given to those with experience in horticulture and equipment operation. The applicant must be capable of working in a physically demanding environment and in all weather conditions.Work Hours and PayWork will be seasonal, full-time for a minimum of 30 hours/week paid at $15.20 per hour.
