We are looking for an energetic, career-focused individual to join our team as an Energy Advisor as a sub-contractor.If you are a builder or a tradesperson looking to make a career shift, this opportunity is for you. You will excel as an Energy Advisor.The company: Since our humble beginnings back in 2009, guiding our clients to achieve energy efficient homes has been at the core of Capital Home Energy. We are a full-service Energy Design firm, focusing on EnerGuide Ratings, BC Energy Step Code, and Net Zero housing.The green building industry is constantly and rapidly evolving, and so is our business. We’re looking to hire and train the right candidate and will help you prepare for the necessary exams in becoming a Registered Energy Advisor (formally CEA Certified Energy Advisor) with Natural Resources Canada.Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing energy modelling for Existing and New Homes
  • Performing Existing Home energy audits
  • Building envelope/airtightness pre-drywall blower door testing
  • Final blower door testing prior to occupancy
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with builders, architects and homeowners
Requirements:
  • Construction & Building Science knowledge.
  • Be familiar with BC construction methods, materials and codes (BC Energy Step Code, VBBL)
  • Ability to read architectural plans.
  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft office, Gsuite, Dropbox, Asana.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a small, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges. Commitment to continuous learning.
  • Ability to establish and manage priorities in a high pace environment.
  • Proven ability to execute swiftly without compromising experience and quality.
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and thorough.
  • Versatility and willingness to work with constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Interest in sustainability and in making a difference in the world.
  • Must own a vehicle and have a valid BC Drivers licence.
  • Be familiar with modeling software HOT2000 is an asset.
  • Be familiar with home labeling programs such as; CHBA Net Zero, EnerGuide, ENERGY STAR®, BUILT GREEN® is an asset.
