The workplace environment is a property construction company located in Dartmouth, near good bus links.The ideal candidate has at least (2) years’ experience with Sage 50, familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, an understanding of basic accounting principles, as well as good written and verbal communication skills. Experience in the construction industry would be an asset.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Overall day-to-day accounting cycle including but not limited to AP, AR, payroll, reconciliation of bank statements & vendor accountsCalculation and remittance of HST, WCB and Source Deductions to CRAPrepare reports as required, maintain office systems, including data management and filing (electronic & paper) in accordance with company standardsAssisting with year end reports & preparation of files to be sent to company accountantsMaintain up-to-date supplier/contractor contact information, WCB coverage confirmation, process vendor billing with verification of contract/quote accuracy, issue T5018’sPayroll – bi-weekly payroll, ROE’s, source deductions, T4’sInvestigate and resolve accounting and billing issuesQUALIFICATIONS:Post-secondary education in Accounting/Finance/Business or related field2 + years related accounting and administration experienceProficiency in Sage 50 softwareKnowledge and understanding of accounting/bookkeeping principles and practicesFocused and able to balance competing demandsSelf-motivated, able to multi-task, proactive & can work independentlyProfessional, well-organized with strong administrative, communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in small business office environment & working directly with company principlesAble to problem solve, with strong attention to detailThe job requires good time management with the ability to resolve issues, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining a level of accuracy.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per yearBenefits:
