Has been established for just under 20 yearswith a solid reputation of building projects that are deadline driven, built right thefirst time, and known for the great care and attention we take in dealing with clientsand employees alike, always aware of the positive impacts of community buildingwhere we work in Nova Scotia.

together with our quality and established subcontractors and suppliers to achievethe goal of a satisfying project for allThe Position:We are looking to hire a skilled Carpenter with knowledge of various carpentrytechniques. You will be responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, andmaintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings. Other duties will includedesigning, cutting, and measuring materials according to a clients requirements.A successful applicant should be hardworking, reliable, and have goodcommunication and organizational skills. You must have completed anapprenticeship in carpentry or have equivalent experience in the field.

  • Wages: Apprentices: $18-25/hr; Carpenters $25-31/hr
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or a minimum of four years
experience as a journey-level carpenter.
  • Knowledge of Mathematics
  • Have a growth ‘mindset’ and have open communication skills.
  • Experience installing doors, windows and siding.
  • Good physical fitness, stamina and strength, good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time, including climbing,
pulling and lifting heavy objects.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge in building envelope processes & applications preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Assisting supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation.
  • Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets,
stairs, and other fixtures as required.
  • Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials.
  • Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment.
Follow compliance with local building codes, and health and safetyregulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Build foundations, install floor systems, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof
systems.
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills,
mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Site Superintendent.
