If you are a veteran or military spouse, we hope you consider us for your next opportunity.Position Title: Credit CollectorTeam and Location: Finance - Dartmouth, NSPosition Summary:Reporting to the Commercial Credit Supervisor, the Credit Collector is responsible for minimizing credit risk exposure (collections). The incumbent will play a pivotal role in educating customers and partners the importance of payments being made in a prompt manner, and in accordance with the terms of sales.Key Responsibilities:Maintains a standardized credit process across the company, offer possible improvements where necessary.Oversee a portfolio of Commercial accounts with various volumes and locations. Evaluate account status, monitor terms to ensure that there is ease of use in the credit process. Be able to react with an appropriate level of urgency in the negotiation of payment arrangement within our authority level and make decisions on held orders.Recommend process improvements and assess the effect they will have on internal and external customers. Liaise with branches on all credit related questions they may have.Organize daily/weekly/monthly work activities and attend to various tasks based on priority.Advise customer Service Representatives on credit policies and procedures and answer any credit-related questions they may have by phone and email within our SLA time frame.Address all credit related complaints and come up with a solution.Liaise with collection agencies regarding proposals, settlements and litigation; follow up to provide additional account details or obtain status updates.Manage administrative tasks with regard to your customer portfolio i.e. reports, Declined Credit cards, etc (this would be part of bullet 2 overseeing a portfolio).Keep up to date on collections rules with regard to consumer rights (ie: bankruptcy CCAA, and other options for creditor protection.Develop and maintain relationships with Operations, Adjudication and Sales advising them of customer situations when required.Adjudicate applications under $50K.Conflict management with internal and external customers, ie: peer to peer relationships.Preparedness for testing/projects during acquisitions.Qualifications & Skills:3 years’ experience in credit and collections.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.A quick learner who is self-motivated.Strong communication, organizational, listening, and analytical skills.We Offer:Our Performance-based Annual Incentive Plan, an annual bonus awarding your performance.A share in our success through the Employee Share Purchase Plan and 100% company matching.A flexible group benefit plan that offers health and dental coverage choices to meet the needs of each unique employee.
