Visit us today and check out www.novascotia.com to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Clinical Nutrition Supervisor and in collaboration with the Clinical Dietician (PDT), the Dietetic Technician (DT) conducts nutrition risk screening based on a pre-defined process. Using the established criteria, the DT identifies patients at risk and refers these patients to the PDT. The DT interviews patients, documents pertinent information and calculates Body Mass Index (BMI) and percentage of unintentional weight loss as appropriate. The DT is responsible for completing various menu management activities, including visiting patients through meal rounds and inputting mean and/or nourishment information in the computerized menu management system to meet the patients’ diet/food requirements and to optimize and encourage oral intake. In addition, the DT is responsible for providing limited nutrition education to patients.Qualifications
