Atlantic Road Construction and Paving is looking for Experienced Excavator Operator Job Description : ARCP is currently looking for experienced Excavator Operators to join our growing team in the HRM area for the 2021 season. Reporting to the site foreman and Project management team you would be responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner that is consistent with company values, policies and procedures.· We offer competitive wages starting at $20.00/an hour (higher for individuals with experience)· We have a respectful and friendly management team that will help you succeed!Duties and Responsibilities: · Check heavy equipment before operating to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order· Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulation and compliances· Communicate any unsafe conditions or accident/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction and reporting· Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively to provide quality customer service· Clean, lubricate and perform other minor maintenance work on side as required· Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation· Maneuver trucks/heavy equipment into loading or unloading positions, follow signals from crew members as needed, check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned· Operate equipment such as mobile radios and telephones to exchange necessary information to supervisors or other operators· Ensure that any debris caused by loading/unloading of equipment is cleaned up· Other duties as requiredRequirements: · Heavy equipment operator trade certification considered an asset· 5-10 years of experience· Knowledge of construction and maintenance techniques· Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine equipment maintenance· Strong organizational skills, with strong oral and written communication· Ability to multi-tasks with strong time management skills· Knowledge of construction equipment safety· Must have a positive attitude and the ability to work with little or no supervision· Strong attention to detailWe would like to thank all of those that apply; however only those selected for an interview will be notifiedJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:
