Dartmouth General Hospital is an acute-care community hospital within the Halifax Regional Municipality. The hospital is in the process of expanding to 170 beds and includes a newly renovated 8 bed medical/surgical/cardiac Intensive Care Unit with plans for a 6 bed Intermediate Care Unit.QualificationsApplicants are expected to have FRCPC (or equivalent) designation in General Internal Medicine. Other subspecialties will be given consideration, and negotiations with candidates would include plans for resources and provision of services in the base specialty. Critical Care coverage is optional. Remuneration for ICU is via an alternate payment plan and non-ICU work is remunerated in the provincial fee-for-service system.Candidates will be expected to accept an academic appointment to the Department of Medicine at Dalhousie University.
