With an approximate workforce of 200 dedicated employees, we specialize in the collection, processing, sales, and brokerage of recyclable materials, and are a proven industry leader that have been in operation since 1976.We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Professional to join our growing team to fill the role of Maintenance Lead. Reporting to the Director of Operations & Engineering, the Maintenance Lead will ideally be located in HRM and work primarily from our Dartmouth/Burnside location, with frequent travel to our facilities in Truro and Kentville. The successful candidate for this role will be pivotal in the design, planning and execution of our maintenance program in all three of our Nova Scotia facilities.Summary of Duties: · Ensure all work is completed safely and all safety protocols are followed· Coordination and management of contractors· Build equipment hierarchy in CMMS and develop/optimize PdM’s and PM’s· Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of hydraulic systems and components· Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical equipment· Perform minor repairs to mobile equipment· Interact with suppliers to secure parts and materials and management of maintenance stores· Perform basic maintenance on building and infrastructure· Execute and close work orders using Fiix (Rockwell Automation) CMMS· Fabricate basic structures and items in accordance with relevant regulations· Comprehension of conveyor dynamics and material handling fundamentals· Equipment assembly and installation, start up and testing· Strong comprehension of Engineered Blueprints and drawings· Keep work area and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly condition and follow 5S principlesRequired Qualifications: · Relevant Red Seal Certification or 3 Year Engineering Technologist Diploma· Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in an industrial setting performing and overseeing a wide variety of maintenance activities*A clean drivers abstract is required as a company vehicle will be provided for travel between work locationsAbout you: · Excellent communication skills· Hydraulic training and experience· Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance· Knowledge and experience in safe rigging· Self starter and a proven ability to plan and prioritize your work· Experience and skill in working with multi-trade crews and contractors· Commitment to building and maintaining a 5S lean work environmentScotia Recycling offers an industry competitive salary, full benefits package and an opportunity for long-term professional development and career growth within the Scotia investments Family of Companies.
