Job Description

Looking for a stable and team-oriented work environment within the construction industryCP Distributors has a current opening for an ambitious Project Manager in our Halifax branch.CP Distributors is a trusted, value-added business partner in the construction industry and is dedicated to being the leading supplier of Commercial Doors, Frames, Finish Hardware and Specialties, Integrated Security Systems, and the service and installation of these products.The position is full-time and, for a highly motivated professional, has tremendous growth opportunities. As a senior-level employee, you will provide big-picture assistance to the company and manage a portfolio of projects.As a Project Manager, you will be responsible to:

  • Oversee multiple construction projects that are varied in size and scope for a diverse set of clients;
  • Lead a project team that will manage schedules, resources, financials, and quality control through the project lifecycle;
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the safety requirements of the job site and ensure protocols are properly followed;
  • Manage the daily oversight of all construction management efforts from proposal to project closeout;
  • Anticipate and address the needs of the project team and client;
  • Take a proactive and professional approach to problem-solving and have strong organizational skills;
  • Exceptional communication skills and work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Your Experience:
  • Ideally, you have 5+ years of experience in project management, change management, planning, and risk management;
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related engineering, architectural, or construction management program;
  • Experience working with General Contractors and a solid understanding of project lifecycle;
  • AHC designation considered a strong asset;
  • Direct industry experience considered a strong asset;
  • CET and/or PMP (or similar) designations considered an asset.
Your Skills:
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability for self-management of multiple simultaneous priorities or deadlines;
  • Ability to lead and inspire project teams to achieve excellence in project execution;
  • Proficiency with project management tools and related technology;
  • Creative problem solver who works in a professional manner;
  • Comfortable operating in a multi-project environment;
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across our company, maintaining our close-knit, team-orientated culture.
