Based in Dartmouth, Precision BioLogic is a privately held medical device company that develops, manufactures, and markets a range of specialty diagnostic products used to assess blood coagulation disorders in clinical laboratories around the world. The company has developed a strong reputation in its niche and counts most of the major hospitals and reference laboratories in North America among its direct customers. On November 1, 2018, Precision BioLogic completed the acquisition of Affinity Biologicals Inc., a primary manufacturer of reagents and kits used in hemostasis and thrombosis research and diagnostics located in Ancaster, Ontario.We are looking for: We are looking for a Research and Development Specialist who will support our company’s growth at our Dartmouth site. As the R&D Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting in the design, execution, analysis, and evaluation of company research projects.Your responsibilities: · Performs entry level professional laboratory work of a routine nature requiring application of general and specialized methods, techniques, and instruments:· Support Quality Assurance efforts in R&D facilities such as monitoring equipment and environment temperature & humidity, weekly testing of temperature alarms, calibration and verification of critical R&D equipment and measuring devices, preparation of equipment discrepancy reports· Maintain reagent and equipment inventories, order supplies, and clean laboratory areas, fume hood and common equipment· Maintain standard laboratory and departmental specific equipment· Assists with routine testing in support of IVD Assay validation, instrument qualification, process validation· Properly handle chemicals, prepare buffers, and stock solutions· Carry out experiments, measure and record data and scientific observations· Begin to develop skills in data analysis and ability to evaluate quality of dataRequirements: · Excellent Time Management· High Organizational skills· Scientific writing and communication skills· Innovative thinker· Teamwork & collaboration· Problem solving· Ability to work with various instrument platforms· Multi-tasking· Capable to perform with minimal supervision· Result oriented and focused· Flexible and adaptable· Desire to learn new skills and technologies· Willing to work with Project Management discipline· Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines· Regular attendanceEducation & Experience: · BSc with 2 years of industry experience (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology an asset)· MSc with less than 1 year of industry experience· Other relevant experience and education may be accepted.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:
