Job Description

Job descriptionWe are hiring for multiple opportunities with an experienced developer of multi-unit residential properties in Halifax/Dartmouth.APPLICANTS MUST BE RESIDING IN CANADA CURRENTLY AND ELIGIBLE TO WORK.Carpenter Helpers Responsibilities:

  • Accurately measuring, cutting, and shaping lumber, wood, and other building materials
  • Attaching building materials using nails, screws, nuts, and bolts
  • Erecting temporary structures such as scaffolds and hoists
  • Performing repairs on existing framework structures that are damaged or structurally unsound.
  • Examining building materials to identify any defects.
  • Performing cleanups of job sites by clearing away all carpentry debris and waste.
  • Constructing wooden concrete forms to aid the construction team in erecting various concrete structures.
· Adhere to all safety protocols while on the job, including wearing proper safety clothing and gearRequirements:
  • Sound knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
  • Physical strength and stamina.
  • The ability to safely use hand and power tools
  • Effective communication skills.
Work Conditions
  • Work mainly outdoors
  • Varied hours depending on the demands of the project
  • Peak periods will require you to work overtime
  • Work on residential and commercial sites with other framers and carpenters.
  • Job is physically demanding – you may have to work with power tools, lift heavy materials and kneel or crouch for long periods of time
