Job Description

About Us:We began caring for seniors and enabling seniors to care for themselves in 1983. We continue to do so today as an accredited, not-for-profit community support service agency in Toronto by offering a wide range of practical and low-cost services to seniors and their caregivers. Our services help seniors stay healthy, safe, connected, and live as independently as possible. Job Summary:The Supervisor, Client Services oversees the daily operations for the program to ensure the philosophy of care is implemented in the program. Main responsibilities include: supervision of program staff, first point of contact for clients and circle of care, and oversight of operational tasks that support the Manager, Client Services. What you will do:

  • Provide regular input and feedback on clients to the Client Services Manager.
  • Ensure staff have a clear understanding of their responsibilities, their role in the organization, and their role as a team member.
  • Assist in the completion of client care plans.
  • Delegate PSW tasks and ensure that they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback.
  • Conduct monthly audits and inspections diligently.
  • Address and resolve schedule conflicts as they arise.
  • Handle interpersonal conflicts and staff-related issues professionally.
  • Handle client complaints and escalate when necessary.
  • Monitor staff attendance.
  • Ensure all relevant information is included in the client information management system.
  • Regularly update and maintain client files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee the procurement of supplies and PPE on a biweekly basis.
  • Support with coordinating client visits and admissions, ensuring all information is communicated.
  • Participate in facilitating regular staff meetings.
  • Arrange and provide training to SPRINT Senior Care staff for ad hoc tasks or situations as they arise.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the program.
  • Assist with completing required reporting and follow-up within required timeframes for Health and Safety risks, hazards, and incidents.
  • Ensure that the activities of the residence support the mandate, mission, vision, and values of SPRINT Senior Care while adhering to SPRINT Senior Care’s policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality and risk management activities of the department and agency.
  • Participate as an active member of the Department, Leadership, Accreditation, and Inter-disciplinary Teams.
  • Participate in agency-wide on-call rotation regularly and as required.
What you will bring:
  • Degree/diploma in a health discipline, health administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a community and/or healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships internally and externally with stakeholders and partner agencies.
  • Experience with interRAI CHA and care planning for clients is an asset.
  • Ability to establish a good rapport with staff, clients, and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, build trust, provide coaching and mentorship, facilitate change, and engage in continuous quality improvement.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, including negotiation, persuasion, conflict resolution problem recognition, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates computer skills at an advanced level for the use of the Internet and the following Microsoft Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills in a rapidly changing environment.
