Job Description

Driver Relations SpecialistMidland Transport Limited has become a leader in the transportation industry by providing superior quality service to our customers. Our services include LTL, T/L, Courier Services, and Third-Party Logistics/ Brokerage which provide the convenience of one-stop shipping.Midland Transport is looking for a motivated individual to work as a Drivers Relations Specialist, reporting to the Director Drivers Relation at the Head Office Dieppe. We are looking for someone who has the drive to go above and beyond the call of duty in providing Superior Quality Service for our customers. Acting in a role similar to the Human Resources Business Partner for Linehaul drivers, and a support for all other drivers (O/O, Agency, Company), the Driver Relations Specialist will be the key conduit between the driver and the business. Selected candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a “Can Do” attitude.Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience
  • Years of experience: 2-5 years as a Class 1 Driver
  • Drive results
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Relationship builder
  • Ability to manage competition priorities
  • Microsoft office suite of projects
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular focus/engagement groups to understand the driver experience. Complete actions to engage and retain current drivers.
  • Be the liaison between the road and the Company, by addressing the concerns and challenges drivers have while on the road.
  • Represent and promote the Midland brand by attending recruiting and community events (i.e., career fairs, Touch A Truck, interviewing, etc.).
  • Provide an exceptional onboarding experiencing for new drivers by facilitating training, ordering equipment, responding to inquires, helping with new hire paperwork.
  • Connect with drivers regularly during the new hire phase (30, 60, 90 days), and throughout the employment lifecycle. Complete stay interviews, exit interviews, mitigate turnover, and retain drivers.
  • Manage drivers’ disability cases to reduce absence time and support the return to work/modified duty programs.
  • Lead Company initiatives that impact drivers (Engagement survey, Employee Appreciation Day, benefit reenrollment, workforce planning, etc.)
