Job Description

Photographer/VideographerJ.D. Irving, Limited in Dieppe, NB is currently seeking a Photographer/Videographer as part of the Corporate Communications team. The Photographer/Videographer is responsible for the production of digital files in a variety of media formats including various video file types, and Adobe documents in Photoshop and Illustrator for the J.D. Irving group of companies, based in Dieppe. Experience with photography and videography is required.Key Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the communications team, create, produce, and edit dynamic digital assets including images and long and short form video content for web, social channels, ads, publications and customer and employee presentations.
  • Create photo and video content for various website and social media platforms including product shots, interviews, and creative video content, creating film clips via editing raw footage.
  • Operate cameras and other assistive recording devices to capture content suitable for assigned topics, including, camera positioning, assembling recording equipment, addressing lighting and audio needs, placement of props, etc.
  • Apply appropriate edits, sequencing/cinematography, graphics, special effects, audio overdubbing and other on-screen text as necessary.
  • Prepare and schedule locations, equipment, product, and people, for photographing, and filming.
  • Creatively utilize different photography and videography methods/techniques.
  • Provide direction to person(s) involved with the content making process, including subjects of video or photos, and personnel assisting in the process.
  • Organization and archiving of digital assets on J.D. Irving’s servers.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Degree/diploma in photography and filmmaking, or a related program.
  • 3 years’ experience in photography and videography.
  • Proven experience in video editing Adobe Premiere is a requirement for this position.
  • Proven ability to take professional photos including portraits, candid, and products/equipment.
  • Demonstrated track record in prioritizing and time management with the ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines as competing priorities emerge.
  • High energy level and dedication to meeting both external and internal customer needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of French would be considered an asset.
  • Must be able to occasionally work outside traditional office hours.
