Job PurposeThe Program Leader is responsible for providing a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life. They are responsible for ensuring that all programs are meeting our mission, vision and core values._ Primary Duties and Responsibilities_The Program Leader will be responsible for implementing programs for children ages 5 to 18. They must keep up to date records in accordance to our policies and ensure that the equipment and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained. They will help in planning the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization. This is done in part by providing various experiences and activities that help the children develop good physical, mental and emotional health and well -being.As a non-profit we rely on volunteers to help with special events and fundraisers. As role models for our families and volunteers we ask that staff commit to at least 2 events per year. Examples: Christmas Parade, Christmas Family Dinner, Awards Night, Gala etc. ._ Qualifications _Education, requirements and skills
  • Preferred Child and Youth Care worker or Human Service Counselor certificate or related field
  • Standard First Aid with CPR & AED
  • Completed with no contravention Social Development Check and Vulnerable Criminal Record Check
  • Ability to work in a team and have effective communication skills and problem-solving skills
  • Stress management and time management skills
  • General knowledge of child development
  • Ability to plan safe and appropriate activities for children
  • Must have proficient knowledge to relevant legislation and policies and procedures to ensure that children are supervised and safe at all times
  • Use or ability to learn Microsoft Office programs
Shifts: Tuesday to Friday 1:00pm to 9:00pm, Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pmJob Type: Full-timeSalary: $15.00 per hourBenefits:
