  • Finance Operations – a centralized team performing a range of services such as general accounting, reporting, and transaction processing on behalf of Finance and the Enterprise
  • Business Partner – perform analytics and provide advice to the business to support strategy and decision-making
  • Specialized Functions – providing domain or knowledge-based expertise to the Enterprise
About Finance OperationsThe Finance Operations (FinOps) centre, located in Greater Moncton, New Brunswick, is an integral part of the Finance organization, delivering efficient finance services with a commitment to operational excellence. We will be building and developing a diverse team of enthusiastic and dedicated professionals who want to make a difference with TD. Our goal is to attract a broad talent pool of experienced finance operations personnel and post-secondary graduates, which reflect the diversity of TD and its customers. The centre resides in TD’s new Corporate Office located at Cadillac Fairview’s CF Champlain shopping centre in Dieppe.Job DescriptionReporting to the Master Data Management (MDM) Manager, the resource will be responsible for a range of day-to-day operational activities for FinOps. This position requires technical knowledge, critical and problem-solving skills, troubleshooting skills with an ability to work independently with limited supervision. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong time management skills, organization skills, be self-motivated, result driven and be able manage complex business demands. The candidate should also have solid communication skills and customer service mindset with the ability to liaise with technology, business, Finance, and project partners.Specific responsibilities may include:
  • Supervise day-to-day operations / activities, balance workloads, ensure compliance to internal / external
  • requirements and the achievement of service level standards and productivity targets
  • May lead an operational production support group and provide management with analysis of key process drivers, production gaps, root cause analysis of and performance and productions issues where applicable
  • Identify operational issues and recommend improvements, provide support during implementation and testing of new processes changes and/or technology that address production gaps
  • Resolve escalated matters and refer complex issues / situations beyond own level of expertise
  • Ensure adherence to operating standards and processes – perform quality checks and validation of team members work
  • Review and/or update procedures ensuring all functions and systems are well documented
  • Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process /
  • performance improvements where opportunities exists
  • Apply knowledge of TD Finance systems, products and services, and external requirements, in achieving efficiency and productivity objectives for the group
  • Ensure that Officers and Analysts understand how their work relates to or supports the activities of others outside of their function/unit
  • Recommend, implement and monitor the achievement of process enhancements
  • Be knowledgeable of practices and procedures within own area of responsibility and keep abreast of emerging trends for own functional area
  • Lead and support a high performing team; provide on-going feedback and performance reviews, coach and develop employees and ensure performance management activities are undertaken and completed for all employees
  • Contribute to the process of setting performance objectives for the team; track, monitor and effectively address and/or reward performance in a timely manner
  • Manage employees in compliance
Job RequirementsThe successful candidate will possess a unique blend of customer service and top level team lead role. This position requires:
  • Strong MS Office skills including Excel
  • Good analytical skills in assessing risk, issues and challenging the status quo
  • Self-motivated, with initiative to investigate and resolve issues and ability to work in a demanding environment and handle deadlines and priorities
  • Good communicator who engages direct reports, colleagues, business partners and external stakeholders
  • Ability to stay resilient under pressure and during times of change
  • Ability to execute on ad-hoc non-routine requests
  • Works effectively in teams and with multiple partners
  • Has sound judgement and decision-making abilities
  • People supervisory experience
Specific Educational Requirements:
  • College Diploma or Undergraduate business
  • Technical Diploma (database, source system)
