Job Description

Horizon is a privately owned, mid-sized seniors residence management company, and is growing rapidly. The residences accommodate independent, semi-independent and assisted living seniors who require more specific care. Its real estate portfolio, currently composed of eight (8) residences and more than 1,500 units, is mainly located in the Greater Montreal area and in Ottawa.We are looking for an Activities Manager for a full time position in our seniors residence in Dollard-des-OrmeauxMain duties:

  • Plan the calendar of activities and the monthly newspaper, in collaboration with the management
  • Disseminate the calendar of activities and the newspaper to the residents;
  • Promote the activities to the residents;
  • Ensure the logistics of the activities and the decoration of the premises during special events;
  • Make the necessary purchases related to the activities, according to the allocated budgets;
  • Organize outings and special events;
  • Greet residents and have them participate in activities;
  • Animate and supervise during activities;
  • Ensuring that the activities correspond to the needs and tastes of the residents;
  • Collaborate with the different departments of the residence to facilitate the work of all;
  • Invite different musicians for performances; Perform any other related tasks.
Qualities and profile sought:
  • Possess a degree in recreation technology OR experience deemed equivalent;
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in the field of recreation;
  • Affinity and passion for working with seniors;
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher and the Internet;
  • Fluency in English (mandatory).
