Company DescriptionLooking for work that provides value and impact for yourself and the environmentGrowing over 5 billion trees to date, PRT is a pioneer in the commercial scale containerized growing of over 200 tree species to help regenerate future forests across Canada and the United States.Be part of a team that grows trees which are key in reducing air pollution and contribute to the mitigation of climate-change.Job DescriptionPosition Summary:Reporting to the Nursery Manager, this employee is responsible for the organization of stock in cold storage. The selected candidate will be expected to move stock in and out of storage, and keep meticulous records. Due to the nature of the business the employee will be involved in a variety of tasks throughout the season including:

  • Shipping and Receiving
  • Administrative support, data entry
  • Thawing of stocks prior to shipping
  • Coordinating checks of stock in off-site cold storage facilities
  • Monitoring stock quality
  • Crop and materials inventory
  • Shipping & receiving of other nursery consumables
  • Any other General Nursery work as required including Crop Irrigation and measuring
At peak season shift work and weekend coverage may be required as dictated by customer needs. Depending on the candidate suitability, other nursery work is available during off-peak cold storage season.QualificationsKnowledge Skills & Abilitieso Demonstrated adherence to safe work practice in a production/farm environmento Must be an organized, self-starter with experience working on multiple projectso Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, with strong data entry skills and a keen eye for detailso Strong customer service skills with the ability to stay calm and think under pressureo Ability to follow instructions, and communicate well with otherso Must be able to lift 45 lbs. regularly and work under the elements of the outdoorso Valid driver’s license and a valid certification in operating power mobile equipment. ( eg.
