Our mission is to create a supportive and inclusive Ontario for autism and we value collaboration, respect, accountability and being evidence informed.Job Summary:Title: Subject Matter Expert - Occupational TherapistReports to: Director of Educational ContentLocation: Primarily remote and hybrid, occasionally working at our main office (1179 King St W, Toronto, ON, M6K 3C5) or a regional office as neededHours: 37.5hrs per week (1.0 FTE)Annual Salary: $90,000 - $95,000Position OverviewReporting to the Director of Educational Content, the Subject Matter Expert-Occupational Therapist is responsible for the development and facilitation of staff training on a variety of topics related to occupational therapy and other relevant duties.Key Responsibilities:

• Translate clinical knowledge to knowledge resources for diverse audiences.
• Proactively seek out and collaborate with academic institutions and other organizations to execute research that is relevant to autism.
• Develop and facilitate staff training and resource development for Autism Ontario.
• Ensure that all content developed is evidence informed and reflects the Occupational Therapy profession’s best practices, EDI principles and the evolving needs of the organization.
• Incorporate different learning principles when creating training resources.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and work collaboratively as a team with other professionals on the Subject Matter Expert Team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Regulated health professional (OT).
• Relevant degree required.
• Maintain the standards of practice as established by the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
• A minimum of 5 years experience working directly with children / youth with ASD.
• Thorough understanding of the Ontario Autism Program (experience working within the program is preferred).
• Proven experience with developing training materials and content.
• Proven experience in resource development, implementation, facilitation, evaluation.
• Strong understanding of the principles of Adult Education and learning differences.
• Demonstrated ability to engage staff, promote teamwork, and recognize individual and team performance.
• A team player that values an environment of open communication and collaboration.
• Excellent organizational, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to principles of social justice, neurodiversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, anti-Black racism, anti-ableism.
• Ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers and partner agencies with emphasis on collaboration and relationship building in order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery.
• Proven oral and written communication, including public speaking and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in French language/additional language skills an asset.
• Experience working for a not for profit is an asset.
• Must be proficient with various computer programs including database management, email, and Microsoft Office applications, and have familiarity with social media and other technology tools and approaches
