Job Description

Autoport Limited is hiring Rail Workers at our facility in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia!We are looking for trustworthy full-time employees who are comfortable working year-round in a fast-paced outdoor environment. You will be working with a team to move and stage vehicles in the railyard, drive cars off bi- and tri-level rail cars, and secure the vehicles to restrict movement in the rail car. You will enjoy working alongside a team of passionate individuals in a motivating, safety-oriented work environment.Major Responsibilities and Duties

  • Load and unload vehicles onto railcars in compliance with Autoport Limited quality standards
  • Ensure vehicles are spotted in accordance with customer standards and properly spaced and secured within the railcar
  • Perform duties to prepare railcars for shipment such as: opening and closing railcar doors, setting bridge plates, chocking and de-chocking vehicles.
  • Adhere to all company and industry-related safety standards
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Ability to push, pull, or carry up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Able to adhere to quality and safety standards
  • Must be comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces
  • Experience working outdoors in a labour intensive position is an asset
