LIL B’S HOME BAKING 4 GOVERNMENT WHARF ROAD,UNIT 14, EASTERN PASSAGE, NS B3G 1N6CUSTOMER SERVICE/BAKERY CLERK – FULL TIME POSITION (With potential promotion to Bakery Manager) We are seeking mature applicants for a Customer Service/Bakery Clerk position in a new start-up bakery business. We are in a ‘cottage’ unit of Fisherman’s Cove, in the heart of Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia.Lil B’s Home Baking has partnered with Employment Nova Scotia for employment candidates; preference will be given to applicants already participating in Service Canada’s Employment Insurance Program .Just in time for the summer season, with 25+ years of experience, a husband-and-wife team are opening their own bakery, with traditional home baking recipes, that are family tested and passed down through many generations.This is a year-round, permanent position. Pay will start at minimum wage (with 90-day probation period), experienced in customer service, baking/food prep an asset. This position will include evening and weekend shifts ranging from open to close (9:30am to 9pm). You must be willing/able to stand on your feet for extended amounts of time, safely lift 30+lbs, and assist in the bakery/kitchen area if/when necessary.Confirmed Bakery Opening date: June 17th, 2022. Start date of position: ASAPThis position has the potential to transition into managing the bakery, the successful applicant MUST have,

  • Exemplary customer service skills and experience,
  • Be mature, dependable, polite and professional with customers and co-workers alike
  • Work independently, and blend as a team,
  • Have excellent working knowledge of cloud POS and debit system (Lightspeed retail X & Chase)
  • Working knowledge of opening/closing cash register; maintaining accurate daily float
  • Baking knowledge an asset; would be required to follow instructions and recipes exactly as advised to maintain integrity of family recipes.
  • Complete tasks independently, and in a timely manner,
  • Must keep bakery clean, organized and sanitary. (Bakery and cash counter in wide-open space)
  • Food handling course considered an asset (mandatory at time of hire)
  • Help maintaining inventory
  • Required to answer phone calls, take orders, assist with tracking website orders.
