Commodity TraderEdmonton, ABOn-site Full-Time Reference Number:CAN-AB-EDM-065-040425ABOUT THE ROLEReporting to the General Manager, Alberta region, the Commodity Trader is responsible for buying and selling lumber, OSB, wood panels, and other selected product categories. The Commodity Trader will also be responsible for net sales, margin, and volume targets. The Commodity Trader drives excellent customer service and lays the groundwork for a successful customer relationship by ensuring the ordering process, from start to finish, is accurate, consistent, and timely.The Commodity Trader engages in ongoing dialogue with customers to assess current and projected needs and responds to daily fluctuations in price and market conditions.ABOUT YOUYou are comfortable conducting proactive outbound sales calls to customers to determine their needs and offer immediate quotes. You showcase your ability to communicate effectively with contacts at all levels through your excellent customer service skills on the phone and via email.Your intuitive nature enables you to anticipate, understand, and successfully navigate fluctuating market conditions. You can develop and share an opinion on market conditions based on information from customers and suppliers and through conversations with other traders, the National OSB and Panel Manager, and the National Lumber Procurement Manager.You also see the glass as half full, not half empty.
