Job Description

Director of Strategic Initiatives (Edmonton, AB)Equity + Bonus + Massive Growth OpportunityAbout Total LifeWe’re Total Life — the nation’s leading teletherapy platform for older adults, on a mission to help people age better, feel better, and live longer. With tens of thousands of sessions delivered and a fast-growing national footprint, we’re transforming mental health for an underserved generation. Recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the Best in Business, we’re building something bold — and we’re hiring someone equally bold to lead our marketing engine. The RoleBe the CEO’s Right Hand. Build the Future of Aging. Total Life is rewriting the story of mental health for older adults — one of the most important and underserved populations in healthcare. We’ve delivered tens of thousands of therapy sessions, partnered with major health systems, and proven that transformation is possible at any age. Now we’re scaling — and we’re hiring a Director of Strategic Initiatives to help lead the charge. This role reports directly to the executive team and touches every part of the business: finance, clinical ops, tech, marketing, and growth. You’ll learn our existing operations quickly, identify what’s missing, and build what’s next. You’ll lead bold initiatives, obsess over the details, and execute with speed. This is a rare opportunity to operate like a founder without the founder risk. We’re not looking for a slide-deck strategist. We’re looking for a doer. Someone deeply curious, wildly entrepreneurial, and laser-focused on impact. What You’ll Do

  • Run point on high-stakes projects that touch multiple departments
  • Launch new business lines and internal systems from zero to one
  • Audit existing ops and design improvements that scale
  • Translate ideas into detailed plans, dashboards, and measurable results
  • Collaborate with finance, product, clinical, and growth to align execution
  • Drive outcomes on behalf of the executive team— and operate like an extension of them
  • Use data to make decisions, spot inefficiencies, and tell the story
  • Jump into the chaos and bring clarity, speed, and structure
LocationEdmonton, Alberta (Please note that remote work will be considered for exceptional candidates with occasional travel to Edmonton)Job TypeJob Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday)RequirementsWho You Are
  • 6–10+ years in strategy, ops, consulting, analytics, product, or startup leadership
  • Fluent in Excel (bonus: SQL/Power BI) and great at turning metrics into action
  • A systems thinker who loves building efficient, elegant solutions
  • Confidence to lead, humility to learn, and drive to do the work
  • Strong cross-functional experience — you’ve worked across departments and know how to rally a team
  • Startup energy: you’re fast, gritty, and thrive in uncertainty
  • Bonus: healthcare or tech startup experience
BenefitsSalary Range$95,000 - 125,000 CAD per yearWhy This Role Rocks
  • You’ll report directly to the CEO and SVP Ops and shape the company’s trajectory
  • Equity + bonus + upside to grow into an executive role
  • Work on work that matters — in people’s lives and in the market
  • Be part of a scrappy, supportive team that genuinely likes each other
  • Total Life is scaling fast — and you’ll be building the engine
