Job Description

This is your opportunity to join our high-calibre, experienced group of professionals on a mission to re-imagine the future by changing the way that buildings are conceived and constructed.Entuitive is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer, with experience in restoration of existing structures, based in our Edmonton office.   • Attending client meetings to obtain and present project information throughout the project.
  • Investigation and condition assessments of existing buildings and parking structures to identify the extent and cause of deterioration and develop an understanding of the structural system.
  • Investigation of deteriorating reinforced concrete, structural steel, waterproofing, and expansion joint materials
  • Assist with field training and review of field work completed by junior team members
  • Writing reports based on observations, assessments, and key findings including Condition Assessment Reports
  • Developing written recommendations for necessary repairs and working with the client to prioritize those repairs
  • Preparation of Structural designs and Restoration detail drawings, specifications, and tender documents
  • Produce documentation for contract administration such as bid review letters, proposed change notices, change orders, invoice review letters as well as coordinate the contract between the Owner and Contractor
  • Contract administration during construction including field review, review of submittals and shop drawings, and attendance at construction progress meetings
  • Mentorship of junior team members in technical and contract administration roles
  • Monitoring of internal project costs and review of monthly invoicing
  • Such other duties and responsibilities as Entuitive may assign to you from time to time.
RequirementsWhat do you need to succeed
  • Professional Engineer licensed in the Province of Alberta with a minimum of 7-10 years of Structural Restoration project experience,
  • Ability to lead small to medium sized structural/building restoration projects from investigation, through design and contract administration with limited guidance and supervision,
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships and assist with business development initiatives,
  • Must have excellent verbal communication skills with good to excellent written communication and computer skills,
  • A strong working knowledge of construction materials and products used in building construction, with a focus on concrete repair and restoration, corrosion protection, traffic toppings, expansion joints and waterproofing systems,
  • Aptitude for working within existing facilities,
  • Some experience assisting with business development efforts would be considered an asset; and
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Knowledge and interest related to embodied carbon is considered an asset
