Are you currently enrolled in the Alberta Appliance Service Technician apprenticeship program Are you mechanically inclined and interested in enrolling Then we have an opportunity for you! The RoleThe Appliance Service Technician Apprentice will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient appliance service. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate repairs and diagnosis of mechanical issues, utilizing manufacturers’ service manuals and bulletins as needed. Transparent communication with customers, thorough documentation of repairs, and adherence to safety standards are key aspects of this role.What you will be doing
  1. Appliance Service:
  • Perform efficient and accurate repairs on various appliances, striving for first-time resolution.
  • Methodically diagnose and address mechanical issues, consulting manufacturers’ service manuals and bulletins.
  • Provide customers with detailed and understandable diagnosis and repair information.
  • Communicate any service-related concerns to Management for timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
Documentation:
  • Thoroughly document existing damage on customer products or work areas prior to repairs.
  • Coordinate with the parts department for precise and timely parts orders.
  • Complete all repair documentation accurately, obtaining proper authorization for tasks.
  • Manage used customer/warranty parts efficiently, ensuring proper tagging and return.
Training:
  • Actively engage in required schooling and educational programs for professional development.
  • Utilize shop manuals and technical service bulletins to enhance technical knowledge.
  • Participate in training opportunities to stay updated on industry advancements.
  • Support the growth of junior apprentices through guidance and assistance.
Safety:
  • Adhere strictly to Company and Provincial safety standards, prioritizing personal and team safety.
  • Report maintenance issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety and reliability.
  • Maintain equipment and manuals in optimal condition, promoting efficiency.
  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization in trucks/vans, shop areas, and customer homes.
To be successful in this role, you ideally have
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Currently enrolled in the Alberta Appliance Service Technician apprenticeship program.
  • Excellent customer service and mechanical problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy appliances.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and practices.
