Job Description

Recognized as one of Canada #39;s Top Employers, we’ve never lost sight of putting people first, ensuring an open culture driven by respect, support, and building long-term relationships.The Pre-Apprentice Student is hired on a probationary basis to participate in the Skilled Trades Accelerator Bootcamp, a unique 3-month program that combines foundational training, hands-on practice, and on-the-job rotations. This innovative program is designed to introduce you to the essentials of the skilled trades, including Millwrighting, and Shop Operations, including Fabrication and Machining. It is crucial that our Pre-Apprentice Students promote a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.What you’ll gain:

  • 6 weeks of in-class theory training, covering the fundamentals of skilled trades combined with hands-on labs
  • 6 weeks on-the-job rotation, where you #39;ll shadow professionals in various skilled trades in our shop and field environments
  • Opportunities to discover what sparks your passion and ignite your enthusiasm in the skilled trades
  • Training from experienced professionals who will guide you every step of the way
  • Valuable skills and knowledge that will set you up for success in your chosen skilled trade
Upon successful completion of the Skilled Trades Accelerator Bootcamp, you’ll have the opportunity to receive an offer for a Pre-Apprenticeship role where you’ll focus on your chosen trade and continue to develop your skills. Our program is designed to give you a head start in your career, preparing you for a future in the skilled trades.   • Learn the foundations necessary to be successful in the skilled trades in our onsite classroom
  • Participate in a job rotation covering Fabrication, Machining and Millwrighting
  • Learn essential health and safety skills
  • Learn Equipment Standard Operating Procedures including:
  • Deburring
  • Weld Cleaning
  • Bead Blast
  • Bandsaw
  • Laser Cutting/Brake Press
  • Machining/Router
  • Welding
  • Fabrication
  • Assembly
  • Millwrighting
Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship In accordance with Company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the Company All other duties as required Requirements
  • Completion of High School or equivalent

  • Basic hand tool knowledge
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
