Shaw Precast Solutions, a division of The Shaw Group Limited is known for our commitment to provide high quality concrete products since 1945 and we take pride in our ability to customize highly specialized products.As an integral part of the production team at Shaw Precast Solutions, the Quality Assurance Technician will be a leader who has the capability to ensure our team manufactures products to our highest standards.The successful candidate may be responsible for: · Performing field samples on concrete for plastic properties and strength tests.· Installation and tracking of thermocouples and data.· Concrete repair work, as required.· Inspections of concrete pieces as they are being built and following form removal.· Adjustments on concrete mixes based on workability and sub-standard properties.· Calibration of testing equipment.· Data entry and filling out of quality documentation.· Initiating and following up on non-conformities including root cause analysis.· Other duties as required.Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required: · ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 (or the willingness and ability to become certified - undergo the process of writing an exam and being tested of concrete testing techniques)· Concrete or construction materials quality testing experience preferred.· Must be able to lift 40lbs· Mid-level computer skills· Ability to adapt to different software programs for quality entry and tracking· Experience with laboratory testing equipment· Experience reading and interpreting engineering shop drawings· High attentiveness to detail· Ability to work within a team environment· Strong organizational skills· Ability to work in/knowledgeable in both wetcast and drycast operation.· Strong written and verbal communication skillsWhy work for The Shaw GroupWe understand the importance of investing in and developing our people.
