This is how we at Pratt & Whitney approach our work, and this is why we are inspired to go beyond.What are our expectationsIn this role, you will provide direction and leadership through timely communication to your team during scheduled team and contact meetings. You will ensure adequate resources are available to meet forecasted business requirements while maintaining compliance to all Plant 41 policies.

  • Demonstrated ability to set goals based on plant and area objectives and develop a vision for the future.
  • Demonstrated initiative with a commitment to achieving plant and area objectives.
  • Ensure proper training of team members in order to reach objectives.
  • Ensure organization and facilitation of team and contact meetings.
  • Ensure compliance to time management guidelines
  • Effective utilization of manpower to meet performance objectives
  • Effective management of people resources through the PFT process
  • Commitment to EH&S - ensure compliance to policy as per EH&S levels of accountability
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to effectively use CORE tools to determine and implement a solution.
  • Follow-up on quality results and use CORE tools to ensure preventative and corrective action in order to achieve continuous improvements and measure performance.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality and CORE Initiatives.
  • Ownership & leadership of CORE activities including continuous follow up on KPIs
  • Ability to manage and properly utilize resources to address technical issues
  • Ensure compliance to all applicable policies.
  • Ensure organization operates within budget plan
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new ideas and implement best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively achieve department targets with available manpower
  • Demonstrated ability to hold individuals accountable for meeting performance targets
The tools you need to be successful
  • Engineering Degree, Undergraduate Degree or Technical Related Diploma, Journeyperson Machinist or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Currently an ACE Associate or a commitment to enroll in the program to achieve Associate Status (now CORE)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership skills and the ability to work in a team
  • Computer literacy, ideally with MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), and SAP
  • Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative, work well under pressure.
