Estevan Judicial Centre– Court Admin Assistant The Ministry of Justice is responsible for providing a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individuals in Saskatchewan; promotes safe and secure communities; and provides legal and justice policy advice to assist the government. The Courts and Community Justice Division is seeking a skilled, ethical, confident individual to work at Estevan courthouse to provide comprehensive clerical support to the Court of King’s Bench operations in Estevan with support also provided to Estevan Provincial Court Administration.As a member of a team of professionals, you will be in daily contact with the public, lawyers, police agencies, community agencies and offenders.You will handle walk-in and telephone inquiries regarding court appearances and dispositions, status of accounts, referencing applicable policies and procedures, Acts and Regulations. You will also receive payments and perform basic accounting duties.Your responsibilities will consist of data entry and retrieval using the Judicial Scheduling, Tracking, and Amalgamated Reporting (JSTAR) system for the Court of King’s Bench and the Criminal Justice Information Management System (CJIMS) data system for Provincial court matters.Court Administrative Assistants will also use ) computer applications to, prepare and format court documents in accordance with court orders and processes as well as applicable requirements of the Court and legislationThe successful candidate will have knowledge of legal terminology, the administration of legal documents and an understanding of the various levels of court, court processes and procedures; general office and administrative practices and procedures including handling of cash, filing systems and mail processing; computer applications, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.Our candidate of choice will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills be thorough, analytical, accurate and detail-oriented.The environment in which you will work is potentially hostile, therefore, you must be able to recognize volatile situations and react appropriately.
