Job Description

Seymour Pacific Developments Ltd. is a national leader in land development and residential construction, and we are seeking a Site Superintendent at our multifamily site in Fernie, BC. The Site Superintendent will be responsible for the supervision of all construction activities that take place on the work site. The role will work with the Project Manager on all field aspects of the project budget, schedule, and productivity.Your contributions to the team:

  • Supervise and manage all construction operations
  • Direct all site personnel and ensure quality and safety of all work performed
  • Coordinate with trade contractors for proper construction sequencing
  • Maintain accurate and concise records of cost codes and verify site costs against budget
  • Develop the overall project schedule; maintain and monthly revision as required.
  • Develop a two-week work schedule each Friday
  • Assist subcontractor(s) in scheduling their work and provide direction where necessary
  • Co-ordinate equipment and manpower to achieve schedule requirements
  • Responsible for working with the Project Manager on all field aspects of the projects budget, schedule, design and productivity
  • Code, verify and approve time sheets, purchase orders, work authorities, etc.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with Project Managers, trade contractors, architects, consultants and clients
  • Negotiate contracts and work within established budgets
  • Other duties as required
What you need to be successful:
  • 5-10 years of construction experience in wood frame, multifamily construction
  • Formal construction management or engineering education would be an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all building techniques, building codes, and safety regulations associated with the construction of multi-story apartment buildings
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and architectural schematics
  • Established excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with the team and upper management
  • Excellent organization and management skills to achieve time efficiency and work deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability in decision making and taking ownership with his action
  • Consistently perform all work in a safe manner, following work instructions and/or safe operating procedures
  • Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills
  • result-oriented, with the ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple and completing priorities and timelines
  • strong knowledge of OH amp;S regulations and related building codes
  • First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets
